Sony vpc-f21z1e
The situation as follows the laptop model is vpc-f21z1e from Sony. In August it could not burn blu ray discs after a long time Sony said firmware and it was fixed. But the problem is worse now it don't recognise and blu ray discs made by me, even ones made in the exact same drive, now every disc is said to be incomparable and windvd has a layer issue but I have reinstalled windvd from vaio care recovery still doesn't work.
This is a new problem I last burned successfully on blu ray is 3rd jan but DVD burn great. The firmware is totally upto date. I think the blu ray laser is faulty but how can the computer find pre made blu ray then windvd still don't load any advice

Sounds like you might need to get Sony to take a look at it. As for the laser not writing discs, but read them, I've never had it with a Blu Ray, but I've had the same problem with a DVD writer. In that case it was because it writing DVDs takes more power, and the laser was unable to provide the power.

I did a recovery because they will ask and then they will pick it up. For the first disc I tends to work after that it fails that make sense to you. So pit one disc in works great then problems. Just trying to make sense

It sounds like the drive is failing. As such, the recovery disk won't make a blind bit of difference.

Do you mean that hard drive or combo drive is failling. I did recovery because Sony always ask to do it, Nero says after 1st burn that any blu ray disc like imitation and verbatim I have used before are now uncompatable. Are the bd-re discs now damaged
