It might work for other updates but you'll probably find that one of the updates is for IE9

Re: Windows 7 Error message 9C48

I am having exactly the same problem and have not yet managed to cure it. I have tried the Windows fix it but to no avail. I am sure it has something to do with Windows Explorer 9 which I have installed. I have tried reinstalling it to try and correct the error but it comes up already installed. Help!!

Normally when I have updates that don't install via Windows Update I note the update number down, then go to the MS Update Catalog website http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Home.aspx and then search for the update that I need and then download it and install manually. The only downside is yu have to use IE to get the download.

Re: Windows 7 Error message 9C48

I too have tried the Microsoft Fix it tool and that has not worked. The only update that is being rejected is relating to Windows Explorer 9. Someone suggested I unistall this programme. I have only basic knowledge of the workings so if that is what I need to do how do I go about it, and how will I reinstall it again without loosing any data. Can anyone help with a simple and easy to follow instructions bearing in mind my lack of expertise. Or should I being doing something completely different!!!

I have suffered the same problem for months. Somebody suggested I try;
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/w...troubleshooter
I went into this web site and followed the instructions and hey presto it worked and at long last the update is installed and I no longer get the dreaded 9C48 error code.
