Go to device manager, open the device's properties, and under Details, Hardware ID's, paste us the output.

Re: Trying to find out what wifi card I'm using
Thanks Kymmy, now for me to try figure out why it will only connect to my DLINK 615(DD-WRT) when the dlink is on NG-Mixed (connects on G) but if I put it on N-Only windows 7 can see the SSID but will not connect.

Re: Trying to find out what wifi card I'm using
would you mind helping me with this? I downloaded the driver and fiddled with dd-wrt settings. I can connect to it in N mode if the router is running in N-Only mode if I run it in NG-Mixed windows connects to the routers in G-mode.

Re: Trying to find out what wifi card I'm using
Can you set the card to N mode only? (sorry I've never had one of those cards)

Re: Trying to find out what wifi card I'm using
That's a Ralink based card of the same class and generation chipset as the DIR-615 so should (in theory!) work perfectly.
Try using the generic Ralink drivers here:

Re: Trying to find out what wifi card I'm using
Grrr....strangely I managed to get all my devices a mixture of G and N) to connect to the router with dd-wrt set to N-Only with 802.11n Transmission Mode set to Mixed.
However my work laptop does not want to connect. Its A Dell Latitude D630 which is using XP. XP finds the wifi and even asks for the passkey but it will not connect or accept. I tried creating a virtual interface that uses a different security/encryption setting but that didnt work. I tried it without any security/encryption.
I have my old Safecom router which I trying to replace but because of my work laptop not working with the dlink is there any way I could use the Safecom to pass my work traffic to the dlink?

Re: Trying to find out what wifi card I'm using
What's the encryption set to?
WPA2 - AES or No encryption is needed to get the N data rates if everything is following the standards properly.
Of course I wouldn't recommend the No encryption option.

Re: Trying to find out what wifi card I'm using
WMM enabled, seems to be another option often said to be needed for full speed.
