Re: Boot-up refused on desktop.
gba93, Just to let you know that I purchased a "Boot CD" disk from Ebay at less than a fiver and then the technician at my supplier managed the repair and I now am back in operation. Many thanks again.

Good to hear that you're sorted out. Remember to take a set of backups NOW. Just in case the loss of the loader is a symptom of an impending HDD failure.

Re: Boot-up refused on desktop.
Thankyou Heero yuy. When I collected the Comp. from the supplier they said I could Back-up by going to Control Panel and there would be an Icon to Back-up to a CD but following the Repair the number of Icons seems to be reduced and no such Icon is present. Is there a simple way of backing-up the System, in case of problems in the future ,or do I need to get PCWorld to do it for me. Many thanks.
