Re: pc and my apple tv

Which appleTV the first one or the ATV2?

Is the appleTV jailbroken?

Is the AppleTV connected to a home cinama system at all?

I've seen issues with the audio using the firecore media player when having one of the Surround sound settings enabled (I think it's the DTS setting) since the ATV is outputting the digital audio to both the optical and the HDMI.

My TV doesn't decode it properly and produces a lot of static which means I either have to remember to Mute the TV (The AV amp can handle it ok but it's a fairly old one so uses the optical rather than the HDMI) or not use that setting.
