Question Firefox not closing

Have problems getting on to internet( or so I thought) over the last couple of days.

Today I found out.More by luck than judgement. That it is firefox not closing at the end of a session. It appears closed but it seems its still running. Went of a reboot & thats how I found that out. What should I do ?

Re: Firefox not closing

I have noticed the same thing a few times, and have had to manually force it to shut down with the 3 fingered salute.

Re: Firefox not closing

Ok I guess you mean Ctrl, alt., delete. but at what point - ie before I even try to close down, as I can`t see if it has or not closed down. If you see what I mean.

Re: Firefox not closing

You could try uninstalling and reinstalling FF. Or get rid of it altogether. I've been less and less impressed with FF in the last years. It's become too buggy for my liking. Currently using Chrome.

Re: Firefox not closing

Some addons and other things can keep FF "running" after you shut it down. Using Process Explorer you can see it hanging on, often with lots of RAM, for a while after close down. Most times though it does clear away after a while.

Supported browsers for some of our apps are IE8 (compat mode) and FF 3.5/3.6 and that's it, no Chrome, no Opera, no any other really good, fast, slim browser.
