Memory Question

Hi Guys I was wondering would this work

http://www.ebuyer.com/275166-crucial...kit51264ba160a

with this Motherboard

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD...specifications

Thanks for the help, Just want to make sure before I order. I assume it will as the board says it supports 4 x DIMM, Max. 16 GB, DDR3 1800(O.C.)*/1600(O.C.).

Re: Memory Question

You'll have to overclock and also it'll depend on the CPU but yes it should work

Re: Memory Question

How do I overclock it? I've got a AMD Phenom X2 550 black edition. Is the Ram Just plug and play?

Re: Memory Question

If you go to the crucial website it will let you pick your motherboard and tell you what memory is compatible.

Re: Memory Question

If youn use 1600MHz RAM with an AMD, it will default to 1333MHz - to enable 1600, the ASUS motherboards call it "DOCP" - DRAM OverClocking Profile", not sure if it is processor dependent, since the memory controller is in the CPU.

I said it depends on the CPU as some of the lower CPU's to use that board will restrict memory throughput.. Remember the AMD's don't have a separate memory controller like intels
