Lovely New tv

Good Evening All

I have a shiny new Panasonic Viera G30. Is it possible to connect up a 10m cat 6 ethernet cable from my virgin superhub from one room into the other and into the tv to make full use of the tv's network capabilities.
As far as i am aware, the only other way is usb which is costly and doesn't guarantee as good a signal.
Thanks for any useful replies

Yes, the ethernet can be upto 100 meters (and probably longer)

If you don't want cables from room to room then get some homeplugs

Homeplugs are a device that transmits ethernet signals via your electricity supply. You plug one in near the router/modem/superhub and connect it to the router, you plug another one in near the TV and connect it to the TV, so instead of having a cable across the floor the signal goes via your hidden electricity wiring.

Wi-Fi dongles should work too

Re: Lovely New tv

If you want wireless and dongles are not an option then you can use a wireless bridge

TV --- bridge ~~ wireless ~~ router/hub

Essentially works in a similar way to power line in that one set up the bridge wireless link is "invisible", it just behaves like a wired link to the TV.

Most homeplugs I`ve seen cost £60 to £80 but these from Guersnsey are much cheaper and work very well.Good for 200Mbs too.

Maplin were recently selling their own brand for £69.99.

I use 7dayshop a lot.Very reliable,VAT free and free delivery.
