Re: Which SSD?

Those results seem a bit off compared to results i have looked at on overclockers just check the firmware and make sure you have the latest or 0009 at least. That said people usually say to connect them to intel controller but if i remember right the only sata 6 ports on your board are the marvel ones might be getting the board mixed up my memory is not the best lol. Main thing though as always is are you happy with it sometimes people can get a bit too caught up on benchmarks and worry about differences they would never notice in day to day use.

Re: Which SSD?

Ah - forgot to say - updating the firmware is the first thing I did. It's running the latest 0309. Can't remember who makes the SATA II controller on the board - might be Intel but it's SATA II so it'll be slower surley? Yes the Marvell's are SATA III / 6Gbs.

It boots in around 20 seconds which is far better from the 3 mins on the old drive.

Re: Which SSD?

Yeah for benchmarks you'll notice more of a difference with sata two over three but in day to day use the difference will be negligible m8 i wouldn't worry about it. Your boot time sounds spot on so relax your drive is working as it should have fun playing with it i am still five months away from my five yearly upgrade least i know exactly what i am getting always helps lol.
I suggest you download the 2.15 firmware update that purpotedly fixes the BSODs. It was released 2-3 months ago.
Will this do the update without a format? I was a bit -/+ I'm sure I read somewhere that firmware updates can brick the drive and to do so at my own risk.

Might not be this drive but SSD's in general that I read it.
