New PC Tower (Intel i7) Where to Buy
I am looking for a Tower (no screen) as I'll connect to my 40" TV.
This is the rough spec off http://www.aria.co.uk
i7 2600 (3.4GHz) (Sandybridge) Processor
8GB Dual Chan DDR 1333
2TB (5900rpm) SATA III Hard Drive
1GB DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT 530 Graphics Card
DVD +/- RW
Sound Integrated
Windows 7 Professional
1Yr Collect & Returns Warranty
£649.99
I've looked at PC world, Tesco, eBuyer & Dell... Any other obvious retailers I've missed?
Is the above price about right? I've got quotes from £525 - £733 if I play with RAM & H/D options from different retailers.

Mike-o-soft in Swansea market? He'll spec you a pc without a tower for a good price, I've had stuff from him before and he's pretty good.

Rather a shop than market stall. Could ask my friend to help me build a PC if I went down that route... Good idea though, but prefer backup of a retail shop
i7 & 8GB Ram is £500 or just under, so looks like tight profit margin.

If you are happy with mail order it's worth looking at www.scan.co.uk and www.overclockers.co.uk

+1 for Novatech. Never used them myself, but I've only ever heard good things about them (here and other forums).

Have you been in there? It's a shop, not a stall!

I knew the original owner who started it, ordered few things there (DVDs & Parts) but want my PC off a different retailer as its a lot of money to spend.

That's fairly similar to the specification I am looking at for a relative
However, they want to view and play with the PC prior to purchase
Equally, they are willing to pay more for higher RAM and higher graphics spec / more graphics RAM
I have drawn a complete blank in my local stores, the specification is pretty much as above but usually one item (RAM, HDD, or graphics) is not suitable / lower spec

SATA III Hard Drive was default, I could have any drive I want (if I need to edit spec)

Re: New PC Tower (Intel i7) Where to Buy
Scan.co.uk would be my personal choice. I have used them many times and their service is faultless, even with returns. The same can not be said for overclockers.co.uk - in my experience.

Try somewhere like www.overclockers.co.uk
They have a good reputation.

all depends on where you are based in the country but you can forget about any of the retailers really as they just dont have anything high powered like what you are after in the shops.
Novatech is based in Cardiff, Bristol, Reading and Portsmouth. I've used Novatech before and really good.
Scan is based around Bolton
Aria is in Manchester
