Virtual Print Server

Good evening,

I am wondering whether or not anyone can help me?

At work we have started rolling out Windows 7 64-bit machines, our problem is that when we are connecting HP 1018/1015 printers and sharing them out the print spooler crashes,

we have tried various patches, i was wondering if anyone know's any software that can create a virtual print server to which client machines connect to it and then sends a request to the printer. a bit like printershare.com's solution. Its a great solution although the price is the stumbling block.

If anyone has a freeware application that can do this, then it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Kenny

Re: Virtual Print Server

It might help if you specify how you're currently connecting them, I presume directly to the PC? Options though are print servers (little USB ones are very cheap) or knowing HP can you get a network module for them?? Other options may be to roll back to an earlier driver as it might cure the spool problems
