Wireless is always worse than Ethernet and will be for some time. If your near a plug point you could always try powerline adaptors which seem to be in between the two for speed.

Re: Wireless adapter slowing my internet speed down?

Yes this is quiet a common problem, you could try changing your channel on your router, try to avoid channels 1,6,11 for some strange reason a lot of routers that are set to auto tend to default to these channels only. It would be worth while downloading a WIFI scanner app to determine what channels are in use by your neighbours, then select a channel thats not in use.

Other devices that can interferance with your WIFI signal are video senders, cordless phones, Bluetooth devices, wireless video cameras. Apparently even bad electrical connections can cause problems within the RF spectrum.

Re: Wireless adapter slowing my internet speed down?

It's not a problem as such, it's just what wireless is, it's always going to be slower than a direct connection

Yes it has alot to do with how good your signal to the host modem is....

A direct connection IS ALWAYS BETTER (Anything wireless is gonna suffer, nothing one can do )
