Just got a new SSD
OCZ Agility 3 sata 3 - read 525mb/s and write 475mb/s Pretty impressed with it.
Couple of questions though?
Trim support I am assuming windows 7 takes care of that?
I've done a windows exp test and I get a score of 7.6 for it. but I'm running it through native IDE or whatever it says in bios.
Although there are others Raid 0 and AHCI. When I try switching to AHCI through bios it gets to the point where it says loading operating system and just stays at that I have to reset the pc and same with Raid.
Having looked at the raid options it needs to have 2 HD's linked which would mean mixing my SSD with a standard HD which I dont think would work?
Looking around the net most people say that SSD's dont need a raid setup as it wouldn't be any quicker with the drive?

Re: Just got a new SSD
Switching between Legacy (IDE) and AHCI needs a re-install of the OS due to the way the BIOS detects it. We have this issue at work sometimes. AHCI Drivers need to be installed in the OS when you install it to the drive (these aren't installed when BIOS detects IDE AFAIK).

It may be better do it that way (and I certainly would do a fresh format when setting up a SSD for the first time) but you don't /NEED/ to.
See here.

Be aware of the blue screen issues with the Agility 3, i have one myself and i get random blue screens and freezing, this is a known issue and the latest firmware v1.09 will fix about 65% of them but there are still problems they are working on

Re: Just got a new SSD
Can't be as bad as the Kingston V+ series I had 128gig that thing blue screened at everything bought it off Ebay for £90 so couldn't really send it back because its not that the drive was broken it was because the drive had bugs and what not load of crap really.
I've give it to my mate told him it might be ok on his system but BSOD on mine.....not had any problems with this drive so far been running it since monday.
