New monitor

I am thinking of replacing my 7year old 24inch Iiyama TFT with something more upto date.
Having got into photography over the last year or so i need something that will suit my needs and hve seen this one.............

Wouldn't it be cheaper to get a 27" tv with hdmi on it

These things just aren't as good as CRT yet, well not a a reasonable price. And they all insist (nearly all) of using 16:9 to favour the movie watchers rather that 16:10 which gives more vertical pixels.
Finding a general purpose 16:10 panel that's good for games, movies, programming and photography is not easy, especially on a budget.

That's because 16:10 panels cost a lot more to manufacture
