Can anyone Identify This?
I need to know what type of connector this is (See Pics)
It's a Power Lead for a Plasma TV but the lead is too short, and I need to know if there is anyway I can buy longer leads, or if this lead is specific to Samsung only.

Re: Can anyone Identify This?
So that is on the end of a mains power cable which plugs into a UK wall socket? Why don't you get an extender block and make the mains lead longer and then fit another 3 pin mains plug to it?
edit
Maybe extender block is the wrong word, but if you can't find that connector then just cut the mains cable and rejoin if you can find the correct way to do it.

Re: Can anyone Identify This?
no, that white connector goes into the TV, the Socket that goes into the Mains is a standard 3 PIN Plug.
I have no Idea what Connector the White bit is, I've never seen one for a TV, so I dont know if its a specific Samsung Connector, or a Universal Connector.
I need at least 4 Meters of lead to be able to wall mount my TV without having an extension lead trailing up my wall.

Re: Can anyone Identify This?
It'll be a standard kind of electronics cable connector but i've no idea how you will find that out as there are sooooo many different kinds.
I'd still cut the cable and find the correct joiner if 1 exists, that's the easy way.
Even if you did find that connector you would need the correct tool to fit the cable unless you solder the wires in.

Try emailing RS Electronic components the photo as they will sell it.

Re: Can anyone Identify This?
It looks like some large version of a Molex connector thats usually used as power for IDE hard disks etc. Most TVs (even the Samsung one's I've seen [LCDs]) have the usual Kettle Plug connectors.
However I've never seen plasmas so I'm not 100% sure. If you have no idea, I'd take the whole lead to your local Maplins etc to see if they sell longer ones or extensions to it.

Re: Can anyone Identify This?
I wouldn't now recommend cutting the mains cable and extending it as it may void any warranty that's on it.
You might be better posting this question on http://www.avforums.com/

Re: Can anyone Identify This?
How stupid of Samsung not to sell a longer lead
Looks like getting a spare and re-doing one is the way to go

Re: Can anyone Identify This?
A lot of moulded plugs have mains filters built in to prevent interference going back into the mains. The plug will have markings on it to say if it has, usually a coil symbol or the wording uhenrys (not got the symbol for micro its a u with a tail).
Removing the plug will not effect the tv but could allow interference into your mains supply.

It may void the warranty though.

Re: Can anyone Identify This?
Personally I'd open up the crimped connectors on the white plug, get a new lead with UK plug on it and solder/crimp the connectors back on..
Not to everyones ability but without identifying exactly which molex it is probably the cleanest method..
PS.. If Samsung is charging £30+ for it then you can be assured that it's an impossible to find connector

Re: Can anyone Identify This?
Depending on the space available behind TV, use a mains 13 amp connector (they are same size as a matchbox) connect your new length of cable (1.75mm 3 core) then use another connector to reattach plug to new cable.
(Connectors available at Maplins/B&Q/RS even Wilkinsons 2pounds each)
