Watermarking Software
Hi all,
Any of you guys and gals use watermarking software?
I've got a batch of photos I want to watermark - don't really want to do one by one as that will take ages.
Had a quick Google and seen there's lots around but I just wondered your opinions!
Can it be done with Photoshop? I know it can do the watermark template - but not too sure about the batch processing.

Re: Watermarking Software
I dont think photoshop will do batch processing (though I've never tried it), I've just looked it up because a colleague of mine says it does it: FastStone ImageViewer according to their website watermarks (and can batch process). However, I know faststone is a good viewer, I've not used it for watermarking but it is something I'm going to try

Re: Watermarking Software
Quick question, do you need to watermark the actual file so that you send that file out or the displaying of the file for a web site?
If the latter why not in-line process the file as it's displayed or accessed, that way you don't have to have 2 copies.

One user recommends Faststone for this sort of batch jobbing.

Sorry about that, I read it through and it looked right, but I didn't have a chance to try it out myself.

Don't worry wasn't your fault. It seemed like it was going to work OK, but it just didn't. Reps on the way for the links though as you seem to be a fountain of all photographic/photoshoppy knowledge

Re: Watermarking Software
Here's a piece of freeware I'd forgotten about, I used it a few years ago. http://www.snapfiles.com/get/tsrwatermarkimage.html "TSR Watermark Image enables you to add custom text or image watermarks to your photos. The program can optionally resize your images in the process and also convert them to JPG, PNG, TIFF or GIF format. You have complete control over the watermark location, size and transparency settings and can preview the results on a sample image you choose. Other features include batch processing, support for automatic EXIF rotation, angled text and text effects. TSR Watermark Image can preserve existing EXIF date and also add your watermark text to the EXIF copyright information for each image."

In batch processing (as in many other areas), Photoshop is extremely powerful, but hard to use.
Almost any Photoshop function can be used in a batch, and most can be used as part of a sequence of actions to be performed on a batch of files.

Re: Watermarking Software
Googles picasa Gives the option to watermark an image during export to folder.
Although It doesn't seem to let you choose where it puts the watermark
see
http://www.flickr.com/photos/fbdragon/4540726343/ for an example.
