Re: External Hardrive

What do you think, all? 10mins to image a drive to an external via USB seems a bit to quick for me? I know it depends on capacity etc...

So - let's get this right - you have burnt a CD with an image of your C: drive from your computer using the software?

Re: External Hardrive

then you have not created a backup all you have done is created a bootable recovery enviroment to use once you have a back up on external drive

You can change the external drive from fAT32 TO NTFS, i would personally do this first (only if it`s a new drive with no data on) as FAT32 does have some limitations.

Read this topic on how to from Microsoft http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...nced/ntfs.mspx

Still not sure what Operating system you have, is it XP?

p.s. Just done a restore after installing a load of stuff last night and it`s all gone

Re: External Hardrive

The recovery CD is only 57.6 MB in size so it should be fine. Pretty sure the one i burned yesterday took a similar amount of time.

What Operating System are you using? XP/Vista or windows 7

Re: External Hardrive

I can`t see any reason why not. Only thing does the PIKAONE drive you borrowed have any data stored on it? If it has i would not convert it, there is a chance of data loss. Also how big is said drive?

If the drive still has plenty of space left you could still try a back up with it being FAT32

---------- Post added at 17:58 ---------- Previous post was at 16:35 ----------
