'searching' on phone screen - no signal? - home phone not working.

my home phone has suddenly began displaying 'searching' on the screen more often than not just now - occasionally it does display as normal and I can make calls but when it flits back to 'searching' I lose the call I was making and the line goes dead..

what can cause this ?

Re: 'searching' on phone screen - no signal? - home phone not working.

I take it it's a cordless phone?

Searching means that it's lost the connection between handset and the base unit and nothing to do with VM.. Things that cause this can be the batteries starting to fail, interference from another source or an actual fault with the handset/base unit

Place the handset back on the base for a min or so that usually solves these kinds of issues.
