Publisher 2007 and A2

My partner is creating a presentation/poster or University using Microsoft Publisher, and it has to be A2 sized. When this is being editing, in print preview, Publisher splits it up into 4x A4 sheets, equalling A2. This was perfect for what she was doing.

However, Publisher is deciding to split the page up into 9 A4 sheets instead (3x3) meaning the presentation/poster is becoming distorted in it's new layout.

She didn't do anything to make it do this, it just did it on it's own.

Any ideas on how to get it back to 4x A4 sheets?

Re: Publisher 2007 and A2

Has the page size etc been checked to make sure its still set to A4?

Minimise the margins where possible as it could make it go onto more than 4 sheets (try setting margins to 0px all the way around but be aware not all printers will print to the edges of sheets).

I just had a play on Publisher 2003. In the dialog box "Poster and Banner Print Options" (a submenu of Page Setup), setting the overlap to a value greater than zero can cause the effect you describe.

Also, I don't have A2 as an option, and had to look up and set the custom page size.

Re: Publisher 2007 and A2

We tried that, but it just made the print overlap onto more pages, which didn't get rid of the problem.

She had to create a custom page size, and entered the dimensions of an A2 page. It looked as one whole page while designing it. When she went into print preview, it would show the A2 page isn't actually 1 A2 sheet, but made up of 4x A4 sheets, equalling A2. That was fine, until print preview started showing 9x A4 sheets, and saying it'd only print on the middle sheet, and half of each of the other sheets, which we didn't want.

Re: Publisher 2007 and A2

Can't remember how to set them as I don't use publisher anymore but you'll probably find that the margins are causing the issue. Remember that A2 = 4xA4 but the printer removes the edges due to the margins, hence A2 = 9xA4 print areas
