DVD wont eject
I have a 22" Wharfedale TV with built in Freeview and DVD player. Now I cannot eject my disc. Both the controller button, and button on the side of the TV do nothing...it says it's opening, but it isn't.
I have tried turning it off for 5 mins, and turning it back on holding the eject button. That sounded like it's doing things, but it still didn't eject.
Any ideas?

my surround system does the same thing[wont open dvd door] if i put a little pressure on the top of the unit it opens ,i can actually feel the correct place by pressing eject and feeling the casing [i feel the mechanism trying to eject]
the problem on mine is caused by warping of the plastic parts of the disc mechanism due to over heating in the past .

Re: DVD wont eject
The TV is only about 9 months old, and the DVD player is rarely used. I hope it isn't warped, because that'd suck. I'll try out your suggestion, cheers.

found this

i know its not you tv but this may apply
SECOND: If the set still does not eject there may be a release mechanism. Some sets have a small hole where you push the end of a paper clip into a release button. Your users manual will tell you where it is and how to activate it.

Re: DVD wont eject
Unfortunately, there isn't anywhere I can apply pressure, since it's quite a sturdy block on the back of the TV.
Thanks for that link, I am leaving it unplugged for 4 hours, and going from there. There is no release button either, so I can't try that. If this doesn't work, I may have to take it back to Argos.

argos have a 12 month guarantee i believe so you should get a replacement if you kept the reciept.

Re: DVD wont eject
What about the disc inside, and if it's not...legally viable to put it one way?

Re: DVD wont eject
I managed to remove the disc using two screwdrivers. It seems as the two pins weren't moving to eject the disc, but the rest of the machine was. I have left it unplugged now. Do I risk trying the device again?

Re: DVD wont eject
If you do make sure you test it with a blank dvd or at least a legit one that you don't mind loosing if the 2 screwdriver method doesn't work next time.

Re: DVD wont eject
I take it you tried putting it into DVD mode beforehand?
