Mac Problems...

Calling all Mac users..

Recently acquired an oldish Mac (Powermac G4 MDD) for music production etc, got it all setup and working fine, decided to run software update, to update from 10.4.9 to 10.4.11 so it recognises my iPod Touch, midway through installing it said something about an installer error and moving installer to trash . so i rebooted as it said, and now it gets stuck on the "Mac OS X" screen where with the blue loading bar and doesnt go any further. No restore DVD or CDs came with it. Help appreciated

Re: Mac Problems...

You may want to look on ebay for some restore disks. I'm a fairly new Mac user and can't find anything of the description you gave after a quick google.

The only thing i did find was THIS and holding down SHIFT when you turn it on boots into "Safe Mode" and does a directory check.

I'm not saying this will fix it but it should give you an idea if anything major is wrong.

Re: Mac Problems...

Its possible that its a logic board issue, I read into this issue further after posting, and other answers in various places came up with that cause.
