How do I disable the windows key on my keyboard?

Trying some kiddies programs with my little one but he keeps pressing the windows key and keeps taking him out of the programm and onto the start menu.

I'm starting to think he either loves windows/MS or he likes trying to break the app.

Thanks for your help :P

Re: How do I disable the windows key on my keyboard?

Here is a link to a page with some downloads to disable the Windows key, but it is at your own risk.

http://johnhaller.com/jh/useful_stuf...e_windows_key/

Another option is to remove the key while using the machine with your son.

Re: How do I disable the windows key on my keyboard?

What I would suggest is you go to the key

HKEY_LOCAL_ MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout and back up that key to a reg file. Then make the alterations in Bops link and back the key up again with a different name. Then you can enable and disable it to your hearts content easily

Re: How do I disable the windows key on my keyboard?

if i take the key off me may get the fright of his life if he sees another keyboard with it on lol so I think I may go along the regedit route.

zing is it possible to just run something like a batch file that enables or disables the key so say i get the program for my son then when he is finished and I want to use it then I run it to revert back to the previous state i.e enable the windows key.

Re: How do I disable the windows key on my keyboard?

set the keyboard as an 84 key keyboard in the regional settings. They don't have the windows keys and therefore ignore input from it.

Re: How do I disable the windows key on my keyboard?

1) Grab a small flat screwdriver,
2) Slip the end under the key
3) Jerk Slightly and watch as the Key Flys Over the Other side of the Room
4) No windows key
