Creating 'breaks' on a dvd

I've been using DVDsanta to create .avi files to dvd which works fine but when I want to burn multiple files on to the dvd disk it doesn't seperate them, so I have no way of going from say clip 1 to clip 5 without watching all the ones in between.

Instead of using the DVDsanta burning facility I've been using the Windows & inbuilt burning programme which puts a menu on the disk and one of the options is 'scenes', could that be used to split up the files for direct access? Or is there another way?

Re: Creating 'breaks' on a dvd

I'm sure that works fine but these files have already been converted - I'm looking for some sort of burning programme which will allow me to create the breaks.

as far as I know 'convertx' will take already converted files & add them to a menu which is burned with the files, allowing them to be chosen individually when the completed disk is loaded.

- I'm not sure about your original query about the 'scenes' option, though, 'convertx' is not free for a legit copy, so the built in option may suit your purpose better ??

You can download a free fully fuctional trial of Convertx, the only restriction is that the trial version places a watermark on the finished DVD.

Check it out and see if it floats your boat.

I can only agree with everyones choice, convertX is superb. I have been using it for quite sometime now. I have found it the easiest and most user friendly app for this purpose.
I downloaded the trial, that I think allows you three attempts, found it so good, I bought it and never looked back.
It also allows you to build a project, so you can add, change things prior to burning.

DVDflick...(Freeware) you can make chapters at any spacing you want... a great, solid convert-to-dvd-and-burn program.
