Is this a Broadband problem or something else?

I am at someone's house at the moment who is connecting to the Internet using BT HomeHub. They are on a 8MB connection, which usually works fine.

I installed the HomeHub myself about two months ago, and it all worked perfectly fine. Only now it seems to have stopped working.

There seems to be two problems...the phone, and the Internet.

The phones connected to the HomeHub don't seem to work. When you pick them up, you get a crackly sound down the line, and you can't hear anything.

The Internet is odd, it works perfectly fine loading web pages and on speed tests, but using the Xbox 360 is a problem. We can send messages to other players, but can't join games or play online.

I reset the HomeHub, and that solved the crackly noise, but the Internet is still having problems.

There are 2 handsets connected, 3 laptops and an Xbox 360.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I would like to get it sorted asap.

That sounds like a line fault, there is noise on the line, you will have to get BT out to fix that.
