Exclamation 2600XT HDMI Audio

Hi Folks

I have got a Powercolor 2600XT card and i would like to use HDMI audio.

I have disabled the on board sound and installed the ATI Catalyst driver (8.7) but i just cant get it to work.

I have it connect to my TV with the ATI hdmi converter but nothing seams to work.

Anyone got any ideas!!!

Cheers

Re: 2600XT HDMI Audio

I could be missing something but what audio source is the PC using?

What I found on that card indicates it only has DVI-D which as far as I know only carries a video signal.

any use?

The bit I thought might be useful was to re-enable onboard sound.

Re: 2600XT HDMI Audio

I use HDMI audio at home, fantastic idea whoever invented it.

On my Vista I had to right click the volume icon in the system tray and go to play back devices.
Then select HDMI from the list and set it as default.

Re: 2600XT HDMI Audio

Is HDMI listed in the playback devices?

Re: 2600XT HDMI Audio

it is yeah but when I set it as the default device I don't hear any sound.

The little green bars go up and down like it is playing something but just no sound
