Re: 2600XT HDMI Audio
Many TV's have seperate volume/picture settings for each AV input type, so even though you're getting sound from watching TV through the logitech speakers, it doesn't mean that the HDMI volume is up enough.

Re: 2600XT HDMI Audio
You will only get a HD picture signal going to your telly from your graphics card (no audio will be carried via the HDMI in this case), to have hi definition audio you would need another HDMI on your souncard that would also go into your telly. Ideally you need a AV reciever with HDMI 1.3a and connect everything via that. Onkyo do some award winning recievers. You can get the top of the range from Richer Sounds for £799 retailed at £1300. Go for it, get 7.1 cinema surround, a nice set of speakers, blue ray dvd player and it'll open a whole new world for you (and your neighbours).

Re: 2600XT HDMI Audio
My laptop doesn't have HD sound yet it's able to send audio to my TV via HDMI
The HD2600XT has built in 5.1 audio.

You dont need two seperate cables. HDMI is able to send audio and video through the same feed, since the X2600XT also has an onboard sound chip, it should be working.
