Thumbs down Nvidia 9600 GT under Vista home - BSOD

Anyone on here have a NV 9600GT (or similar) running under Vista Home?
We have a Palit badged card and with both the unsigned Palit drivers and official NForce drivers the system is regularly BSOD'ing. Google suggests this may be a fairly common problem, but has anyone here actually got a 9600 series working stable under Vista and if so what drivers did you use?

Obviously you've tried the latest drivers, have you tried some slightly older ones? Is it anything you do that particularly causes to crash, or will it go even if left to its own devices?

Also might be worthwhile trying the beta drivers from Guru 3d

Thats a good start - I've taken the 177.66 driver from Guru 3d and the older 174.74 that they used in their benchmark. See how that goes.

Whats the BSOD saying? That will let me know if it is a problem with the driver crashing.

Re: Nvidia 9600 GT under Vista home - BSOD

Progress - looks like the BSOD's were probably nothing to do with drivers - there was a borked 1Gb DIMM in the system
Memtest confirms that after about 20mins testing one area of the DIMM starts throwing up errors - off to RMA land!
Guess that wraps up this thread.

Just to make sure, take out the DIMM and run the PC normally to see if it still throws up the error.

One other thought for you. I had very similar problems with my vista box. Regular BSODs and what looked like the a borked ram stick.

The problem turned out to be the drivers for the motherboard. An installation of the latest forceware drivers fixed the problem
