What`s the best mp3 /wav player?

For years i`ve used Musicmatch Jukebox for playing my mp3`s and now i feel the need to change as it`s all gone tits up since being sold to yahoo!.
Anyone got any recommendations for a good player, tried windows media player and don`t like it.
Thanks.

Re: What`s the best mp3 /wav player?

I like VLC, mainly because it is a 'one stop shop' for all my media files, especially X264 encoded films/tv shows & flac for the music.

Re: What`s the best mp3 /wav player?

I've used Winamp version 5.3 for years now and I don't think I'll ever use anything else.

Used to use Winamp a lot, but since moving to Vista I tend to just use Media Player/Center.

I use VLC for videos though as it tends to play everything!

Got to agree with you Gaz about VLC. It will even play DVD's without needing any additional codecs and nearly all video formats.

If you like to arrange your music library and have it all sorted, album art, etc, I-Tunes is great.

QMP

And, Foobar2K. With the ipod manager, it's even a decent replacement for itunes.

Re: What`s the best mp3 /wav player?

VLC is over the top just for music and isn't best suited either. Foobar is probably the best free choice.

Re: What`s the best mp3 /wav player?

I'd g with Winamp, and use either it with the K-Lite codec pack, or Media Player Classic.
