Microsoft And Their 10 Ports

Hi All

Did you all know that the kind people at microsoft have locked your pc down to 10 open ports at any one time ? No.. Used to be 16777214 open ports until the dreaded sasser worm and they locked the ports down to 10 after that to stop radmin, vnc, nt scanners etc from doing their business.

This will hamper you if you have multiple p2p progs open and think about how many open ports your pc uses up !!!! A lot and quite quickly. This would explain why some of you have speed problems, problems opening webpages etc when you have a ton of them opened.

Thers is a way to change the tcp/ip limit but i am not uploading the program on here. You want the info then get in touch but just to let you know that this is the problem for many people.

And dogpile is a great source for looking for it.

Neil

Alternatively, you could search for information about "Event 4226" and your operating system (as there are different solutions for XP and Vista).
