PCI-E Graphic card

Hi,

I have a MSI P4M900M2 Motherboard with a Dual Core E2180 (2Ghz) Cpu.
The board has a PCI-E x16 (Transfer Rate 4.0GB/s)

I am look for a PCI-E Graphic card for the above setup, I would prefer a Nvidia if possible, I have a small budget between £40 and £50 (no more than £50).

I was looking at a Inno3D Nvidia 8500GT 512MB (DDR2) at ebuyer.com

It only for the odd games and net browsing, the games I be playing currently run on a AGP Nvidia 7600GT 256MB (DDR3) card

Don't be fooled by the increase in numbers ie 8 over a 7 series card.

A decent 8 series card is an 8800GT onwards, i have heard that the 8500 cards are poo and will more than likely be worse off than you 7600GT.

For £40/50 you're not going to get much, maybe try and stretch to a 8600GT?

For comparison on how games will run, a 8500 or 8600 will just about play BF2 on medium settings, note this game is almost 3yrs old.

Re: PCI-E Graphic card

Hi,

I am aware that I am not going to be able to get much for the price, but at current it has onboard graphics, so anything going to be better than that.

I will take a look at the 8600GT, if anyone else can recommend a card that will work be it Nvidia or ATI.

I am look for the best bang for the money, so to say
