Graphics Issues

Hi,
I currently have an Nvidia 7800GTX and an 8500GT and at the moment have one monitor connected to each . My primary monitor is connected to the 7800GTX which is on the primary PCI-E slot.

When I play a DIVX film in VLC media player (full screen) on the secondary monitor (8500GT), the entire system seems to run slowly. When I move the video over the my primary monitor it is fine.

It can't be the performance of the 8500gt because this has been my main card up until recently, running both monitors.

Does anyone have any ideas on this strange issue? (The reason I am running this configuration is because I want to add another screen)

Help much appreciated as always

Re: Graphics Issues

I think you would be better off running 2 8500GT is sli mode if you want to run 3 screens.

Re: Graphics Issues

Thanks for the reply... I'm pretty sure you cant run 3 monitors on SLI - despite having 4 ports, you only can use the ports on the primary card

Re: Graphics Issues

i think to get 3-4 monitors you have to take the sli bridge off and run the cards seprate i'm not sure but it's worth a look if you are thinking of going for 2x 8500's
