Re: Computer turns off!

are you trying to convert a divx to a dvd? if so may be a codec issue, I've had nero crash computer when trying to make a vcd from a divx when codecs weren't installed correctly.

Re: Computer turns off!

Hi,
Here is the update as to my problem:
When i opened up the case fully, well dust was so thick (bad me for not cleaning) it was clogging up all of the fans, which must have made it overheat making the comp shut down.
so in future i'm going to clean it at least every two months!
Thanks again for all of the help.

trevortt is on a distinguished road
Re: Computer turns off!

You may also want to disable the auto shut down function so that if the computer does freak out you can take note of the BSOD message.

To disable the auto shut down follow these steps:

right click my computer, properties, system protection, startup & recovery, untick auto restart, apply okay.

I presume from what you said that cleaning it has eliviated the shutdowns and all is ok now?

Re: Computer turns off!

yes cleaning it out does help i do mine once a month and, as to the coment about 5.6ghz and just adding them up to get the speed, as des 1001 has done mine would be 12.00ghz but is only 3.0ghz. heat is an issue with me thats why i have 8 fans and clean it every month to avoid any crashes or bsod's
