Thunderbird question
Is it possible to set Thunderbird so that it doesn't automatically download new messages as soon as you open it?
I can do this with OE but cannot find a similar option on T'bird.
Jim.

I can't quite remember where the option is exactly, but when I used to use TBird, I'm sure I set it to do what you want, as I prefer it to not send/receive until I want it to.

Edit --> Account Settings --> Server Settings
Uncheck 'Check for new messages at startup'
