New PC
Hi Folks,
I have just built a new PC but i am having some trouble trying to get the RAM to work correctly.
It has got in it
http://www.ebuyer.com/138562
and
http://www.ebuyer.com/132275
When i try and set the RAM to 4-4-4-15 the pc will not post, it just says that the Overclock failed!
I have updated to the latest BIOS and nothing seams to work. I have tried some og my mates RAM in it and it wouldnt work @ his max settings either.
DOes this sould like my MB is broken?
Cheers

Re: New PC
have you tried it without oc'ing the mem?
might be that the board doesnt like the ram... have you checked on the asus website for compatible memory and also noticed the board is ddr2 and ddr3 you sure its in the right sockets?

Re: New PC
might be that the board doesnt like oc'ing memory that much then... dont see any reasons why it wouldnt work on higher mem speeds

so you have a fsb of roughly 400mhz then? mine is set at 420 giving me 1680Mhz without doing anything else. have a read of that guide i posted in previous post.
don't think memory compatibility is a problem in this case, i have geil ram and that isn't on the Asus QVL http://www.asus.com/999/download/pro...94/1694_10.pdf , it runs fine set @ 2.1v and 4-4-4-12 witha 1:1 ratio

Re: New PC
You could try the Asus forums as they might be able to shed a little more light on your problem http://vip.asus.com/forum/topic.aspx...Language=en-us
But from what I have been reading on the asus boards BIOS 1001 aint to hot and you may have to leave your timings relaxed a little until the next update is availiable.
It may be helpful if you list your full spec as this may shed some extra light on your problem, CPU, PSU, GPU etc.
Running at 5-4-4-15 shouldnt make much difference from 4-4-4-15 I dont think you or I would actually see a difference.

or look at this, the bloke uses the same cpu and the only mobo difference is that he uses the deluxe board, everything is in there i.e. bios settings ect etc O/Cing guide.
