BIOS problem..
Hi all
Was round at me dads sorting his pc out, reinstalled windows etc. but i have this rather annoying glitch after it goes through the bios screens it will ask for a device to boot from.
The boot order is CD ROM, hard disk then 3rd option disabled.

Re: BIOS problem..
Was it a reformat of the hard disk, and did you actually wipe the partition windows was reinstalled to, or just reused and thus overwrote the old windows? The latter can cause issues as sometimes the boot up doesn't quite know which or how many version of windows there are.
If it is just the bios, can't you change the sequence and see what is causing the error?

Re: BIOS problem..
( at Benders post). yeah i did that and the message still came up. I will probably go there at the weekend and have a fiddle about with the boot order to make that message go away.

Re: BIOS problem..
Even though you've set the boot order in the BIOS, try hitting F8 (Boot Menu) just after POST and setting it in that menu, you shouldn't have to do it again after that.

Re: BIOS problem..
the point is, although it's hardly any bother, that extra key shouldn't need to be pressed...
you could try either resetting the BIOS to defaults and if you still get a problem, flash it.
