Re: Get My New PC Today :D
Personally I would dual boot it for now until you are sure of what you are happy with. Windows Vista with a linux/ Ubuntu dual boot.

Yup, Linux has eye-candy too. Look here:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lawkc...elated&search=
Think about installing (K)Ubuntu.

Re: Get My New PC Today :D
Kubuntu is a good starter install or Freespire. Normally works out of the box and support is better these days.

Re: Get My New PC Today :D
im not saying do not try linux I do not try to shove windows down peoples throats but im realistic.Windows is easy everything pretty much is written for it. Support is much more readily available. When I tried Ubuntu last year the help I received here was good but a lot of the help I received was links to massive read me sites that didnt really help at all. So I a relatively intelligent man just thought stuff this for a game of soldiers and went back to an OS I could just use

I know what you mean,
I have found that when you ask about a problem with linux, the masses just say google it, that dont help anyone.
But I have had great help here from cobbydaler and my mate who is at the end of msn/gaim who I can ask for help.
but the masses just say google it, I have found only one other place to be like that and surprisingly enough it is javaranch
ik
EDIT: I have sent away for kubuntu... I have suse 9.3 pro, but I was told the new kubuntu is better, by my mate who I trust with linux

Not true for everyone.
i booted in linux for the first time today in a year, and i had no problem adjusting.
mind you i found it easy to adjust the first time i tried linux..par from a few networking things..
Linux is easy to learn...
P.S Vista does require high specs to run nice, when it shouldnt, its only an OS, not a top of the line game, remember that.
And on top of that all you get is a rather poor effect at 3d animations, which are hugely slow, and very impractical when multi tasking.
