Bootvis not working

I've been trying to get my startup speed higher, and nothing other than bootvis is left to do, but it won't work. Can someone help with the problem?

More details: When I have it optimize the system, it'll stay on that step for as long as I let it go which could be the entire night. I've defragmented my computer many times just to see if that is the problem and it obviously isn't.

Re: Bootvis not working

Personally I prefer the Tools, System Startup, option in Spybot. It's easy to check and uncheck options, rather than running MSconfig.

Bootvis will tell you how long things take but wont actually make changes.

Um... what?

I never said anything about MSconfig, and Bootvis is made to make startup faster rather than just tell you how long it takes...

Not according to MS...

Please note that Bootvis.exe is not a tool that will improve boot/resume performance for end users. Contrary to some published reports, Bootvis.exe cannot reduce or alter a system's boot or resume performance. The boot optimization routines invoked by Bootvis.exe are built into Windows XP. These routines run automatically at pre-determined times as part of the normal operation of the operating system.

Re: Bootvis not working

Then why does it have an optimize option and why did it used to work?
