Can somebody please help with an Excel formula?

For every whole thousand in a number it must add 250s in another column.

So, I would like it to work like this:

1075=250 (1*250)
1987=250 (1*250)
3456=750 (3*750)
7890=1750 (7*250)

etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: Can somebody please help with an Excel formula?

Try this:

=INT(A1/1000)*250

where A1 is the cell containing the original number.

You're welcome.

I'm especially pleased that I beat Cobbydaler to it. No easy task, I can assure you.

At least you have hair to stand on end - most mods don't have that luxury
