Safe Mode Wont Boot

Anyone any ideas on this. I have a PC that will boot normally but hangs when you do things in the ATI Control Center screen. If i try to boot it up in safemode it never works and continually reboots itself after MUP.SYS is displayed

Re: Safe Mode Wont Boot

Could you get hold of another copy of MUP.SYS from another similar copy of Windows or off the CD?

This any use? http://www.computing.net/windowsxp/w...rum/97354.html

i think mup.sys is loaded fine, i'd guess its what ever the next on is. Not sure about copying sys files off of the original CD as you dont know what SP1 and SP2 has changed

Re: Safe Mode Wont Boot

As the original problem seems to be from the ATI Control Center, have you tried reinstalling it ? May just be a currupt file somewhere.
