pending file rename operations, help needed

Hi all, trying to install the Vista Transformation pack, and I'm getting this message saying 'pending file rename operations, reboot to fix' etc etc. The only thing is when I reboot and try again I get the same message, I've just googled the problem, got plenty of replies, only thing is its left me

So, can someone tell me, in plain English, how do I get around this problem, ...please

EDIT, running XP Pro

Re: pending file rename operations, help needed

Not sure on Pro but I am using it with no problems on Home. You are using the latest version vtp6?
Also have you tried installing it in Safe Mode instead. Mine installed fine in Normal Mode but it does give that as an option for anybody that has trouble.
If you manage to get it to install I would advise not installing the side bar as you cannot turn it off until it has loaded. The again I do have icons on the right side of my desktop which is why I took it out.

I have installed on one machine on Pro, haven't thought about safe mode, I'll give it a shot, not bothered about sidebars, and yes, using the latest version

EDIT: yep, all sorted in safe mode, wonder why it installed ok on one machine and not the other oh well, never mind, thanks again

Glad it worked and happy to help.
Am running mine using Vista Basic as the setting, which gives the black bar at the bottom and a round start/stop button. I love the way when you hover your mouse over a box at the bottom it glows blue underneath it. Very clever.

Hey I was thinking about getting Vista Transformation Pack, but can you tell me if it slows down the computer in anyway? Thanks.

The computer I would like to install it on only has 512mb ram... do you think that would be ok?
