I have a PC that had a virus and when the virus was removed it took some system files with it .Is it possible to repair windows XP without reinstalling from scratch.
Yes. Boot from the CD and go through as though your are going to do a fresh install. It will look at your disk and ask you if you want to repair that installation. Press R to rapair and let it do its stuff
Yes - as long as you have an XP install disk.
Boot from the disk and follow instructions here. It will leave your config intact but reinstall system files.
