Slow PC
Hi all,
I know this gets asked a lot, but i thought i'd ask anyway. My Athlon 2Ghz 256 MB ram pc seems to be running very slow. Its almost as if it cant do more than one thing at once. If i'm doing email then thats fine for example, but if i open explorer aswell things seems to hang when jumping from program to program. Or another example, if i'm doing something then click start, programs and select a new program the start menu just hangs there.....for 40sec-1min sometimes?!!!!
I know i've not got a high spec pc but all i do is surf and email (and the odd newsgroup ) and the thing has ran lovely since i built it 18 months ago, but went slow about 2 weeks ago.
P.S. Ive de-fragged, un-installed some crap, spyboted, AVG'd and Panda scaned the PC with nothing coming out bad!
Please help!
Thanks.

Rubbish. I can run XP on 64MB RAM happily. 32MB if I hack the kernel to allow it.

Re: Slow PC
64mb and 128mb - I'm impressed.
With various anti-virus, firewall, MSNmessenger, I take up 364mb of memory (out of 1024mb) - and that's just logged on to the Internet.
