Unhappy PC crashes while using Broadband - help

I've recently installed Blueyonder Broadband (512k) on my laptop using a Webstar 100 modem with USB cable. Every time I use my broadband connection the laptop crashes giving me the 'blue screen of death'. It varies as to when this happens, it can happen when I click on my internet explorer icon or after about 10 mins. surfing. I've tried updating the webstar drivers and installing Spybot but it still happens. I'm running Windows XP SP1. I've rung the Telewest helpdesk 3 times and they've given me the several things try (see above), all to no avail. Any ideas ?

As bontrager says, if possible, you would be better off connecting to the modem via Ethernet. USB wasn't really designed for networking, and can be flaky..

Thanks Guys, I've now installed BB with a ethernet cable and it appears to be fine now. When I have used it a few more times I'll be sure it is OK. Why don't they supply both USB and Ethernet cables (or even ask which one you want). Saving a few pennies I suppose.
