Re: windows vista
I am more interested in
1) How much
2) How long before first security patch
3) The new GUI and bloatness and what specs required to run this load of bloat.
4) Will we get to see IE7?

Re: windows vista
Geez seeing as how long its taking to happen they should name it Bloodylongwaithorn. Its not even going to be complete no Winfs no Avalon not for a while anyway so I believe. Should have kept Longhorn as its been a name around years same as XP should be called Whistler

Re: windows vista
And a question I keep meaning to ask. Why Longhorn? What has a breed of cattle to do with computers, unless you think it's all a load of bull, that is.

I've seen rumours of the same price as XP but don't quote me on that.

2) How long before first security patch
|
No doubt as soon as it launches there will be patches ready for it. RTM happens some time in advance of the product releasing to the shelf so in the time between RTM and people actually buying it and using it there will probably be a few more bugs reported and the relevant patches prepared,

3) The new GUI and bloatness and what specs required to run this load of bloat.
|
I've seen reports of the hardware needed, think one was even posted on the forum and the specs were a little heavy but MS won't want to isolate a very large portion of it's market by demanding expensive, high-end hardware configs. No doubt it will be like XP, high-end for all bells and whistles and a mid-range spec for less features.

4) Will we get to see IE7?
|
It's already in Beta as we speak. Should be ready to roll when Vista is ready.
