ECS A939 mobo compatible graphics cards

Morning all

Just had the above board and wondered if a Geforce 5500 was compatible with this? Number one son had bought this but need to know what cards might be compatible

Re: ECS A939 mobo compatible graphics cards

That motherboard is a pci express mobo, If the 5500 is pci e and not agp then yes if its an older card (Agp) then no

EDIT ok both versions are available. Can you give us model number of the card

An agp card will not fit into an installed mobo's pci-e slot ,so you are not gonna damage anything

Re: ECS A939 mobo compatible graphics cards

Thanks for the replies chaps

Not sure on the model but the card is AGP (was running at 4x on an ABIT KX-7 333) so looks like change mobo or new graphics card yes?

There was mention of the board being backwards compatible (can take AGP or PCI E) any ideas or information on that?

Can you recommend some cards for the board please?
