Re: Exchange Hosting
I have managed to get a Exchange setup running at home, how do I set it up so that I can send externally? I did used to have a site in my favourites but I cannot find it anymore. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Exchange Hosting
You need to add your ISP's smtp address into the smart hosts IIRC...

Re: Exchange Hosting
SOSAGES I am just playing around and teaching my self how to setup and configure Exchange and I have managed to get it installed at home now so I do not need to worry about hosting but the only trouble I have had is sending to external domains but hopefully when I boot the server machine up shortley I will be able to add what Millay said and it should work.
I am teaching my self about servers and networking and at the minute I have a basic one setup and I just like to play around, it keeps me out of mischief and teaches me bits.
FYI the company I have just started working for as part of my apprenticeship with use Exchange.

Re: Exchange Hosting
That would be cool if my phone could access WAP! That is one feature I am not going to be needing, just web access and Outlook when all setup.
Next step will be to setup a shared folder for e-mail but that will be in a while.
Thanks again Millay.

Re: Exchange Hosting
It's just something I want to trial. Mainly because we have an email address for online shopping sites and rather than each having different login's we use the same one and usually access it via webmail so having it delivered to a shared folder would be ideal. It's only going to be family using it but I am mainly using it as a learning curve.

Re: Exchange Hosting
best ue for a shared folder i guess. you could set a rule up to automatically deliver all email from that address to the shared folder... If your server is behind a router dont forget to open port 443

Re: Exchange Hosting
Talking of ports will I need to setup port forwarding on my router? With port 443 won't it need to be forwarded or what?
I managed to send e-mail without chaning anything or does port 443 relate to recieving of email?
