New graphics card?
I'm in the market for a new graphics card.
I'm leaning towards Nvidia based..but am open to ATI aswell.
Budget is upto £200.
Recommendations....

Re: New graphics card?
nvidia have just released the 7800, which is not only faster than its predecessor the 6800 Ultra, but it requires 50% percent less power from your power supply. Although it'll be over your budget, you should find that all the remaining cards will drop in price accordingly.
You looking for an AGP or a PCI Express card?

Re: New graphics card?
I made the change to ATI a few months back and now prefer their cards, although just built a PC for me dad with an Nvidia 6600 in it.

Re: New graphics card?
How much is a good 6800Ultra these days surely they should be hitting the £250 margin.?

2nd one down, only a tad over your budget for a 6800GT AGP card?
Edit: is on offer for £140 right now

Re: New graphics card?
Hmmmmm - Sorry to hijack your thread cas... just after an opinion..
Contemplating the idea of upgrading my cards... at the moment i have 2 of these
I could sell them on very easily right now... so considering buying 2 of these
My question..... would it be worth it... Would i get that much more power out of it?? Do i really need that much more power........ I play BF2, MOH, Doom3, a few Flight sims...... and work on it (word/excel/dreamweaver etc...)
?

Isn't that unusual considering it has a warantee, even though it comes overclocked from the factory.?

I wont go dual core until end of the year..... Just seeing if it would be worth the money.... ill know on Monday what my special rate will be... but im guessing i could sell my cards on for around £150 each.. and reckon i could the new cards for £700 all in... therefore outlay of around £400.... Would i benefit that much though?? Or should i hold off until i upgrade the system at the end of the year anyway????

Eh??? Not sure what your saying.... the factory have overclocked it... therefore they have to give you the warranty.... just the same as most things you buy brand new....
Could you explain a bit more, if i have the wrong end of the stick.......

That is precisely what I thought was unusual. It is overclocked, so it is running above what it should be, meaning it is more likely to fail. I thought it would be sold as-is? Would take a confident manufacturer to put their money where their mouths are to guaranee its reliability.
