Re: Which computer is better for gaming??
Personally I'd go for the Dell (but then again I am biased seeing they pay my wages right now)
If you feel up to it you could buy the parts and built it yourself?
Then you know exactly whats gone into the machine and that no corners have been cut anywhere.

Re: Which computer is better for gaming??
I think the second one looks slightly better, plus you get a Dual Core 64-bit CPU which has no effect on gaming but might come in useful for other stuff.
The components look higher quality too.

The main one would be the graphics card. I'd go for as good a card as your budget allows. The Mesh does give you a bit more room to play around with rather than the Dell choice of a 6800 or X850.

Re: Which computer is better for gaming??
There is no competiton mesh dual core amd all the way. Ive said it time and time again the dual core is a gaming chip no matter what Amd say about the FX weeks micromart test dual core porperly encoding mp3 and dvd while playing games or running other high yeild apps. 2 cores each will run an app at 100% Intel pentium storage heaters are no competition to Amd

Im sorry but this is the Amd speil to make it ok to release the FX 57. No one and I mean no one just runs a game its impossible. Theres an operating system running virus scan firewall, let core 2 worry about these while core 1 works unhindered on your games .These are facts read this weeks micromart(14th- 20th may need to be quick to get it)I will scan the article and email it anyone who wants to finally read a true review on dual core

Re: Which computer is better for gaming??
Sounds like the dual core in the way to go then- I thought so. Didn't really want to pay so much for a gaming system but I don't want one that needs upgrading very quickly either, so may as well pay a bit more now than have to pay more later..

Re: Which computer is better for gaming??
right your spending loads. Best thing you can do is spend a little more and bung the X850 in .Then you have the option next year (if your as mad as me I would do it ) to buy a crossfire board and gfx

CPU usage with windows,Kaspersky,MSN,Steam and firefox is at 0-1% ouch. Seriously what are you talking about?
A FX57 running even stock would kick any dual core CPU into touch. Read whatever magazine you like then go checkout Tomshardware!
Dual core is still limited in its use for gaming.
The game has to be coded for dual core operation to make use of it.
Enjoy Far Cry

Didn't mean to cause any offence by the previous statement, sorry. Never the less you are wrong.

Re: Which computer is better for gaming??
Aword of warning - I've heard that Dell printers are versions of Lexmarkks, but which take different ink cartridges (which can only be bought from Dell).
Something to bear in mind.
Having said that, I do like Dell - good reliable machines
