Talking Wireless set up and security

I want to set up a wireless connection between my new pc (with a wireless card) and my daughter's laptop (also with a wireless card) to share my NTL broadband - USB connection , both machines run XP - mine has professional. Any suggestions gratefully received (I don't want to use a router). I may be posting a new thread shortly!!

Also I wondered if anyone had experience of the new zone alarm wireless security product.
