Re: Windows XP Pro x64 Compatibility List

Thanks for the help, but Win32 boots fine - the problem is with the x64 system.
I also copied the file from x64/windows/drivercache/ to x64/windows/system32 but it made no difference.

I think I'll just wipe the Raptor and make two equal size partitions, install Win32 on the first then install x64 on the 2nd partition.
It may be Win32 messing up x64 because it doesn't understand the system.

Re: Windows XP Pro x64 Compatibility List

I'm getting frustrated to the point of insanity - now the drivers for my Audigy 2 aren't working properly, no microphone volume in Windows volume control so can't join TS to play games, no CMSS etc.
Was better off with x64.

Going to spend the rest of the night reinstalling XP32 then x64...back in 2 hours .

Re: Windows XP Pro x64 Compatibility List

Wow, it worked!
Now running XP Pro32 with XP x64 on a different partition!
It's all running smoothly ATM (until my mobo crashes).

One bit of advice: never join a domain while you're installing Windows - just choose the "typical settings" and join a workgroup because it takes almost as long to join the domain as it does to install!

Both Windows installations don't detect that that I have a microphone port so I can't use Teamspeak.

Can I borrow a shotgun off someone because I know of some lazy ass programmers I'd like to kill?

Re: Windows XP Pro x64 Compatibility List

Sorted it, a quick unplug and plug-in of the breakout box cable was all it needed.
It confused me a bit at first because the power light was on but the CMSS light wasn't - as if the drivers weren't installed properly.

Looking forward to some FNGâ„¢ now.

Re: Windows XP Pro x64 Compatibility List

Can it really be that hard for these companies to write drivers for 64 bit? I know there not going to release drivers for legacy devices but things of say a year or two of age and in major use still should be provided for, what a let down for a company like canon to be lazy like this
